This "revolution"
is ours! We invite all citizens
to display the flag of peace on the balcony of the house
in solidarity with the youth and people struggling for dignity, human rights
, freedom, democracy and the rule of law in the Arab world.

Italy must take place, without further adieu, to stop the brutal repression of demonstrations in Libya and other countries of North Africa and the Gulf. At the same time, Italy has to act within Europe, the United Nations system and other international institutions dedicated to the democratic determined defense of human rights, the duty to protect, assist and accommodate victims of repression. The law must not only be written but are actually used.
No more anxious to declare a "state of emergency." Enough with the spread of fear, paranoia, alarms and threats. Enough of the pessimism and political disaster.
This "revolution" is also ours. First of all because it is peaceful, because we believe in the globalization of human rights, freedom and democracy. 1. a clear and strong condemnation of all forms of repression against peaceful demonstrations in progress;
2. the immediate deployment of international observers (International Human Rights Monitors) and humanitarian agencies in the countries covered by the claims of human rights and fundamental freedoms by the UN Human Rights Council and the European Union;
3. recognition of humanitarian needs and the right to welcoming all people fleeing from violence, threats and other human rights violations taking place in the Mediterranean;
4. blocking the sale of arms and the suspension of all military cooperation with all countries that do not respect the right to express freely and peacefully;
5. the timely adoption of the necessary humanitarian assistance to populations subjected to deprivation of rights not only civil and political but also economic and social
6. the opening of a UN international investigation aims to identify, prosecute and punish those responsible for killings and violence against civilians;
7. Euro-Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly for the immediate convocation;
8. the immediate establishment of a national and European level to promote cooperation and dialogue between civil society, organizations and cultures on both shores of the Mediterranean.
We call on organizations and the movement of European civil society to activate all the initiatives of solidarity and pressure on European governments to finally achieve a true "Community of Mediterranean security and human development."
We call on local authorities and regions, because the example of Giorgio La Pira, give birth to a new era of diplomacy of cities based on the meeting, dialogue, exchange and cooperation between the peoples of Europe and Mediterranean.
